A lovely Award.

I recaived this award from Beedeebabee, she has a beautiful blog and she makes the most exquisite brooches (Pins) her work is so fine. I love it that she thinks of me as one of her blog friends, she is always bubbly and happy and it's a pleasure to know her.

The Finished Product

This is the bag I mentioned below, I made the outside shell but did not know how to line and add handles so my lovely Kathleen helped me.

A Lovely Day

Hello, what a lovely day I have had with Kathleen (Cottonreel) she taught me to make this bag which I am thrilled with, she taught me to make a book cover which I decorated when I got home and put a bookmark in it, thats another little pink check heart at the bottom but it does'nt show up very well on here, and then she taught me to make these two gift bags which are lovely. I am not a bag person but now I have learnt how to do them properly I will make more, it is always the handles and lining that confuse me. Kathleen was so patient although she did make fun of the speed my machine was going which made us laugh, I have to be careful machines scare me a bit. I also took the shell of a bag I had made and she showed me how to add the lining and handles I will post a photo of that in a minute. It was a tiring day because I was concentrating so much but I felt such satisfaction at making these lovely things. My friend Kathleen is the best she has such a big heart and is always giving her time and makes you laugh too.

Busy Busy Lady

Hello, sorry I have'nt posted for a few days but I seem to be running around chasing my tail trying to get everything done at the moment. Tony has finished his Mom & Dads garden and it looks great and he has nearly finished painting the house, he is a busy busy boy. I am sewing a lot at the moment because my daughter is doing a charity event for the Eve Appeal (Ovarian Cancer Charity) she has asked me to do a stall so I am busy making things to sell. Tomorrow is a holiday here but my husband is working so I am going arount to Kathleens (Cottonreels) and we are having a sewing and learning day, she teaches me things, I forget them and so she teaches me again until they go into my thick head. I am really looking forward to it, we will chat and drink tea and giggle all day, Perfect!!!

A continuation of Cushion Covers and Aprons

Here is another cushion cover with a flip and sew 8" panel in the centre I also covered three buttons and sewed them in a row on the front, the back is a pink stripe. The aprons are made with Ikea fabric and the cupcakes on the pockets are from a pattern book called Quilt me Gorgeous, I really enjoyed making these things and whilst I was doing it England beat the Aussies at cricket and we won back the Ashes, a perfect day.

Cushions and Aprons

I made this cushion with selvedges I have cut from my fabrics, I love it, the pattern is on Moda Bakeworks, I put a stripe fabric on the back and it goes really well. I have seen other things made with selvedges on peoples blogs and I thought it was a good idea hope you like it.

Happy Day

Hello everyone, we spent yesterday at Tony's parents doing things to their front garden, this delightful pair are in their 80's and decided they wanted a little adjustment to their front garden we levelled and spread extra soil from the front to the back, we left a shaped piece of lawn in the centre and spread a liner ready to cover with delicious pink shingle it looks good already and the stones will finish it off. We had to move some shrubs too so by last evening we were both shattered but we had a good day. I am sewing today as much as I can, getting a little more of my blue/pink quilt pieced and also making items for my daughters charity sale. Tony is going fishing this afternoon and my son Andrew has a new girlfriend so he is always off somewhere with Becky. I will enjoy my peaceful day. Hope you all have a good day too. Oh I will also be listening avidly to the cricket England v Australia in the final Ashes test we are looking good but those Aussies have a habit of coming back at you.
