My Birthday was great.

Hello everyone, I had a great birthday with lots of goodies from my family and friends and lots of family time too. The cushion you see here was made for me by my daughter Kate it is so lovely. I bought her a Tilda book for christmas and she made me this cushion out of it, the flower you see in the middle is beautifully embroidered by Kate this is something she has never attempted before and she's very proud of it. I will post some more pictures of my lovely things, Kathleen made me a lovely Vintage fabric book it is so pretty. My son bought me one of the brooches I collect by Lea Stein it is Scarlett O'Hara I love it. I had Fabrics and buttons quilting books perfume and so much more I am a very spoilt Mum. I am off now to recover my Linen chest and then I am going into the garden I have Daffodils about to pop.

Carpet delivery and fitting today

Hello everyone, First of all I hope all you Mothers had a lovely Mothering Sunday mine was great, I had a visit from Kate and Andrew with flowers and cards which were lovely but seeing my kids was enough to make me happy. Kate and I did a lot of wedding talking, the kids stayed for dinner and we had lots of chat around the table, I love it when we can talk and laugh together.
My bedroom is having its new carpet fitted today, all the painting is done so the carpet is going down. The new bed is being delivered tomorrow, and the mattress on Thursday so, a busy week. I am looking forward to putting up all my pretty things and using new bedlinen for the first time. It is my Birthday on saturday 20th I will be 64 that is a bit of a shock as I still feel about 26 but I am very happy I am still here with my Lovely Tony and my kids. We are going away in the caravan next week for a few days, we were going in Feb, but ir was so cold we delayed, but we are giving it a go.

My Country Quilt

I have just finished this quilt and I love it, it's what my friend Kathleen calls a countryquilt. It is four and a half inch squares squares al sewn together I have used lots of scraps and I am really pleased with the result. The yellow floral fabric is the backing and I machine quilted this quilt it is not perfect but I keep practising and it is getting better. I will definitely be doing this again I have lots of scraps and it is so easy to make.

Spring is definitely on the way.

We have had a really lovely week of bright sunny frosty weather. The sun has had warmth in it and it felt very good. Kathleen and I have started walking early in the morning and we definitely feel better for it, it is lovely to walk around the village and see spring starting to burst forth. Tony and I went shopping for our new bed yesterday and we found a lovely French style bed with a carved swag on the headboard 'I love it' it will take about four weeks to be delivered which gives us time to get the new carpet fitted.
We are hoping to go away in the caravan for a few days we were going to go in February but it was so cold we decided to wait, so now the weather is slowly getting better we will risk it. I bought some lovely Mable Lucy Attwell fabric on Friday at the fabric guild it is so pretty and will make lovely cot quilts. so thank you God everything is good in my world at the moment. Happy Sunday.
