My Country Quilt

I have just finished this quilt and I love it, it's what my friend Kathleen calls a countryquilt. It is four and a half inch squares squares al sewn together I have used lots of scraps and I am really pleased with the result. The yellow floral fabric is the backing and I machine quilted this quilt it is not perfect but I keep practising and it is getting better. I will definitely be doing this again I have lots of scraps and it is so easy to make.

Spring is definitely on the way.

We have had a really lovely week of bright sunny frosty weather. The sun has had warmth in it and it felt very good. Kathleen and I have started walking early in the morning and we definitely feel better for it, it is lovely to walk around the village and see spring starting to burst forth. Tony and I went shopping for our new bed yesterday and we found a lovely French style bed with a carved swag on the headboard 'I love it' it will take about four weeks to be delivered which gives us time to get the new carpet fitted.
We are hoping to go away in the caravan for a few days we were going to go in February but it was so cold we decided to wait, so now the weather is slowly getting better we will risk it. I bought some lovely Mable Lucy Attwell fabric on Friday at the fabric guild it is so pretty and will make lovely cot quilts. so thank you God everything is good in my world at the moment. Happy Sunday.

Oh No!! Not more Snow

O.K I have definitely had enough now, we woke up to a lot more snow this morning, the poor birds don't know what to make of it, we are putting lots of food out for them, the Blackbird is still in charge and tries to see them all off he's a real bully. Kathleen and I went to Bramble Patch on Friday it was the first day of their 2 day sale. I had never been there before and we had such fun finding it, I am not very good at directions and usually go and extra couple of miles before I find what I am looking for but Kathleen quite enjoys this she sits there like the queen saying" ooh I like this village I could live here look that house is for sale" and with all of this chatter I am trying to find the place we are supposed to be going to. We eventually found it and it was worth the search they had some lovely stuff we bought quite a bit and had Coffee and cake which was lovely Kathleen is now searching for a recipe for Brownies as she liked the cake so much. I met someone I had not seen for 13 years from the village in Worcestershire that I moved from it was lovely to catch up on old friends and gossip and to hear how our children were all getting on. There are some lovely workshops happening at Bramble Patch so we are going to choose one to try. We had a lovely day!

A Quick Look

This is the material I bought yesterday for my new bedroom curtains, we are decorating at the moment so I have to wait a bit before I can see them actually made up. I was talking to my sister-in-law last night she lives in Hove which is near Brighton in East Sussex she was very excited it is her birthday on the 27th Feb and her son who lives in Toronto is coming over for a week, she has'nt seen him since last summer so she is one very happy lady.It is still very cold here with snow and Kent is very bad again, I was looking at the news and they showed Washington D.C. it was horrendous everywhere was completely deserted. I have just been out to take extra food for the birds poor things! I am off now to make a large mug of coffee mmm!
