My Garden

Hello, it has been simply lovely for the last 4 days the sun has shone and it gave me that 'Glad to be alive' feeling. Tony and I have been working in the garden and we have managed to plant all the plants I bought so we just wait now for them to flower. The smell in the garden is wonderful in the evening quite heady I wish I could bottle it for a perfume. I took my dippy friend Kathleen (cottonreel) to the fabric guild on Friday but before we left her house she had made a cup of tea with two paracetemol tablets instead of t.bags in the teapot and then she said" I will just comb my hair" which she did, then she gave it a spray BUT!!!!!!! not with hairspray she used Fly spray, yesssss, fly spray, so after a lot of commotion we washed her hair because she was worried it would go green and fall out, after this we had a nice day and then I went home for a rest and to lie down in a darkened room, Have you got any friends like this.

Losing a Friend

I am feeling sad today because I have lost one of my blogging friends, Gypsylulu passed away at the end of the week and I will miss her, she was a lovely lady and she loved all the crafts we do and she did some lovely one's herself. She has been ill for such a short while but I am glad she is out of pain, I thought about her every day and hoped she would win her fight but she did'nt make it. God Bless you Gypsy.

Busy in the Garden

We have had a little rain over the last two days so I have been able to plant some more of my flowers, the ground was so hard it was really difficult but the rain helped. The birds are very busy feeding their yound, the blackbirds seem to have a permanent mouthful of worms they must be feeding lots of chicks. My son and his girlfriend are back from Greece, they went to Santorini they had a great time and explored the island, they said it was a bit scary on some of the roads up the mountains as there is just a sheer drop at the side but all in all a good holiday. I bought a lovely book at the weekend it is by Melissa Francis and is a Heart & Home Book it has lovely labels inside and lots of ideas for making nice things.I was at Kathleens yesterday helping her with setting up her ebay sales account it was a marathon but we got there and then we went out for tea and the most gorgeous strawberry cheesecake believe me we nedded it.

What a Sight

These photo's are of my beautiful silver birch tree which is covered with Montana clamatis at the moment, it truly is a wonderful sight. I have just been out to take Tony a cup of tea because he is bulding my little summerhouse at the moment and the smell from the Montana was stunning, it is always a glorious sight but this year it is even better than usual. The Lupins are beginning to flower and I noticed the foxgloves are beginning to show buds also the delphiniums are starting to grow their flower, all in all my garden is bursting with life.

Lovely Tearoom

Here is the tearoom Kathleen and I found in Ashby-de-la-Zouch it was charming, we had coffee there and enjoyed it so much we went back for lunch it was a little gem. My friend Kathy at Four Dog Day Blogspot mentioned she did'nt understand what mooch meant in my last post I forget we live in different countries and some of the language is a bit quirky well,to mooch around the shops means just to have a good look and search for bargains and just to enjoy. I have been up since 4am today as I had to take my son and his girlfriend Becky to the airport they are flying off to greece for a holiday it is now 11.45 am and I just received a text saying they had arrived and were on the way to the Hotel. They have gone to one of the Islands it is called Santorini it is the most beautiful place, if you ever see pictures of Greece they are usually from Santorini, buildings seem to hang from the cliff and they are all white and blue, I can relax a bit now they have arrived safe and sound. We have had some gorgeous weather, very hot, the summerhouse is up but not quite finished, I have been planting some more plants today, I keep buying them and then I have to plant them. I am off for a coffee now to keep me awake.

Sorry I've Been Busy

Hello Everyone I am sorry I have'nt posted for a while but life and all it's trials seems to have caught up with me and I have so much to do at the moment I sometimes meet myself coming back. The garden is taking a lot of my time and although I love it it takes a lot of work to keep it weedfree and tidyish. Kathleen and I bought loads of new plants so I have those to get in the ground and our Summerhouse was delivered today, I am really looking forward to seeing it built and I know we will enjoy it. I have also been cutting out fabric for two quilts and hand quilting my heirloom quilt on top of all the housewife things we all have to do. I have just read this post back and I feel quite exhausted knowing how much I have to do. Happy summer everyone.
