I Keep Spending Too Much

Hello I have been a busy girl doing lots of things and spending more than I should on my outfit for Kate's wedding, Last week I went out and spent so much I was in shock for the whole day but, I got over it. Is'nt it funny if we are buying things for our kids or husbands we never think of the cost but when it's something for ourselves we always feel guilty. I have spoken to friends and relatives and all the Mums say they find it difficult to spend money on themselves. Well this week I thought, 'I want it' so I bought it. Then today I went out with cottonreel and did it again and bought some far too expensive shoes to go with the far too expensive outfit and now I am going to buy a far too expensive Hat and Handbag. I really want to feel special for Kate and she is really excited that I have finally been able to spend on myself.
Now I am going to lie down in a darkened room and try not to panic.

In all her glory

Well here it is the bench that caused all the trouble, she has obviously been sat under someone's tree and has lots of green on her but we do like her like this so we will probably keep her that way, she looks as though she has lived in our garden all her life and she is very comfortable.

Auctions!! Be Very Careful When you raise your hand

Here are a selection of photo's from our holiday, the china I am really thrilled with I bought them at an auction for very little money. It was our first auction and I was the one doing the bidding, I was very sensible and I would not go above a certain amount but what I got in China I love. Then we went downstairs to the furniture auction this was very exciting and there were some lovely items but my husband wanted a very falling apart park bench which had no wood left on it but it had a gorgeous wrought iron frame which Tony said he would like to put new slats on for a bench he said there were two and would I bid for the first one, well yes, I bid for the first one but the legs went for too much money, then the auctioneer started with the second one and I thought o.k I will bid for this one instead, so I did, and no one else bid for it so I won, Hooray!! you would think so but, this bench was teak, 5ft long and complete, Tony was saying no,no,no, I was confused, but it was too late we were the owners of a bench that we had to try to fit in the Landrover, I have to say this was very funny, luckily Tony had straps and things as we could not shut the door, we managed to get it back to the caravan site where people had a good laugh, the problem came on Sunday when we were coming home we had to drive for 4 hours with the door open and we had to raise the bench high enough so that we could get the caravan onto the towbar. Well we managed to get everything home in one piece and we now have a lovely old bench in the garden. The other photo's are of Southwold, this is a really quaint seaside town, I loved the pier and the beach huts were adorable. The little town of southwold is very pretty.

Suffolk Pink Houses

Hello, we are back from our journey into Suffolk/Norfolk we were on the border of these two counties and so kept crossing over from one into the other. I loved the Suffolk Pink houses they are just so pretty some are thatched and every village you go through has suffolk pink houses. Before we had the paint we have now the houses were painted with whitewash which had had Ox Blood added to it to give them the pink that is still so popular today. We had a lovely time and I have some more photo's to show you and also a tale of my first auction, I loved it.

Baking Cookies with Kate

I have had a great weekend with my daughter, we went shopping and had a good browsw around the shops and I managed to find my shoes for the wedding Hurray!! The rest of the day we spent making cookies for the wedding we made 200 and then we iced them in two different pinks, they are now in my freezer and nearer the date they will be put into cellophane bags and tied with a ribbon another little idea of Kate's for her wedding, needless to say we were both very tired when we finished. We managed to watch the World Cup Football in between doing these things and I also made a lovely dinner with tiger prawns fresh tomatoes, red pepper, onions. and feta cheese that was baked in the oven, it was a triumph. We are off in our caravan on Tuesday for a few days we are going to Norfolk so we are looking forward to that, I will blog when we get back.
