Beloved Rose.

Hello people, I hope you all had a lovely christmas, our little family had a lovely time all together, we did'nt do anything special we were just together, we ate and talked and talked and played silly games and just enjoyed each others company it was good. I thought especially of my eldest brother George this christmas, he lost his beloved Rose in august, Rose had a brain tumour and died the week before my Kate got married they had been married for over 60 years and it was one of those Real love matches, this was his first christmas without her and I know it would have been hard, we spoke to each other on christmas eve which was lovely and his son was picking him up on christmas day but he wanted to come home to sleep because he says that he feels closest to Rose when he is in their home, the lovely thing is he loves to talk about her so we have some nice chats and it feels as though she is still joining in. I wish you all a happy new year .

Christmas is a time for poignant memories, isn't it? And the first Christmas without someone is always the hardest.
I have wept for Jo's parents in Bristol when I have watched the news this week, even tho I do not know them.
But Christmas is all about new life, and new hope - blessings for 2011 ! love and hugs xxx

My sympathy to your brother and each of you who love and miss Rose. What a wonderful pic you have shared. Christmas is a time for family to be together and support one another through the good and the hard times. May God continue to comfort you and your brother with loving and treasured memories of Rose.

Your brother is very lucky to have a sister who is able and willing to talk, and allow him to talk, about his deceased wife. Often the time spent remembering times sadly gone which were spent with a loved one are the most happy and peaceful times for those recently bereaved.
The first year is always the hardest - sadly the 2nd is often the 2nd hardest, but George is lucky in having you at the end of the phone whenever he feels the need to relive those memories.

I'm sure he has some lovely memories of his beloved wife, and treasures the ability to talk about them with you.

What a precious union they had, Jill...and may God bless George with continued comfort in his loss, and continued joy when he remembers and speaks of his precious beloved Rose.
