Nice Places

We visited Wells Cathedral, Wells is a pretty little town with a huge cathedral which is simply breathtaking, theoutside was impressive and the inside even more so, there were lots of embroideries which were exquisite and we sat and waited for the 13th century clock to chime, just above the clock face are jousters on horses and they gallop around as the clock chimes and there is the most beautiful statue of christ made from a piece of Yew wood underneath the clock it just glowed with warmth.

Whilst we were on holiday we nipped over the border into Devon to Honiton I had always wanted to go there as this was a lace making town, they don't make lace anymore but I saw some lovely pieces, it was a bit pricey but beautiful. The main street has quite a few antique shops the best one I found was called Fountain Antiques and had some great stuff I bought some lovely glass buttons and beads and there was a lot of vintage material which I loved and if you do crazy patchwork it has lots of stuff for embellishing. I love having our caravan it takes us to such brilliant places, I have seen so muchof my country since we started to use the caravan and everytime we go somewhere I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

I think we'd enjoy having a caravan but there's no way my husband would be willing too drive with one on the back and I wouldn't trust him to do so safely either. Do you drive when you take the caravan?
I'm thinking we might get a campervan when we move house in 2012 but even then it'll be me driving it.

Jilly, when we visited Wells, there was a festival going on in the town. Quite crowded! Also, they were making repairs to the crypt and all of the sarcophagi were lying in the halls! Quite unnerving! lol!
But it's a beautiful place for sure! I have a sm. watercolor print of it hanging on our bedroom wall. Wonderful memories!
Hugs, Diane
